Salve a Tutti/e
LEGENDA COLORI: GW = GAMES WORKSHOP – VAL = VALLEJO – W&N = WINSOR & NEWTON
Hello guys and girls
Here comes another appointment. This time I want to propose an “old metal model” of the company Games Workshop Warhammer 40K’s series.
The miniature comes with many beautiful details not always perfect in the mold: there are many burrs due to the merger. Only known for good thing: having 2 left arms and 2 right arms with different weapons.
But we spend at work. =)
KEY COLORS: GW = GAMES WORKSHOP – VAL = VALLEJO – W&N = WINSOR & NEWTON.
Colore base: “Liche Purple” GW .
After “clean” the model I glued the right arm, which holds the sword, and the left arm which wields a CombiWeapon. Then I applied a background of black primer on the thumbnail. After a series of color’s tests I decided to paint the Leader with three shades of color: Purple – Green – Grey and their nuances.
I started to paint the mantle …
Base color: “Liche Purple” GW. I have applied on the model several “hands” of color, diluted with 50% of water, to obtain a thin but opaque color. For the shadows I added a small amount of Black to the base color. As for the lighter areas I added the white in very small quantities, just to make the “LP” slightly lighter. At each step further I added a small amount of White bringing the brush toward the outer edges. For light shots I used the “Pallid Flesh” GW diluted at a ratio of 1 “PF” / 2 Water. For light shots I drew some thin lines using the “Pallid Flesh” GW diluted in proportion: 1 “PF” / 2 water. To increase even more the bright areas I drawn with the pure white some fine lines.
Armatura Terminator.
Colore Base : ” Catachan Green” GW sempre diluito.
Terminator armor.
Base color: “Catachan Green” GW always diluted.I added color to the base of the “Camo Green” GW, in proportions of 1 “CG” / 1 “CAG” / 2 Water, to make the outer edges clearer. Trying not to cover the previous layer of color, I used the “Camo Green” diluted in proportions of 1 “CAG” / 3 water to accentuate the light areas. To accentuate the areas in shadow I made washes with 72067 “Cayman Green” Val diluted in a ratio of 1 “CayG” / 4-5 Water. I added the color Yellow to “Camo Green” to create strokes of light. After I added the White to the previous mixing to draw fine lines on the edges
Elmo, Catene, CombiArma, Fregi, Icone.
Helmet, Chains, Combiweapon , Frieze, Icons.
Base color: “Fortress Grey” GW. For areas in shadow I applied several coats of “Badab Black” GW. To further accentuate the dark areas I applied a wash of 70950 “Black” Val, in proportions of 1 “B” / 3 “BB” / 4 water. I spread a thin layer of “FG” to create light areas. I added the color White to “FG” to paint the edges and then only with the pure white I created light shots.
Spada ad Energia.
Colore base : 70953 “Flat Yellow” Val
Power Sword.
Base color: 70953 “Flat Yellow” Val
From the center toward the dark Zone: At the base color I added a small dose of “Red Gore” GW and, diluting the mixture with water, I stretched thin layers of color, allowing the base color to shine through. I added to the mixture the 70985 “Hull Red” Val and, keeping it well diluted, I applied it on the areas in shadow. Finally I added the color Black and I painted the end zones dark
From the center to clear Zone: Al base color I added 70851 “Bright Orange” Val. I have stretched several coats of color, always well diluted, leading me to the light areas. I added the color Yellow to the mixture, bringing more and more on the outer edges. Finally I used the color Yellow to paint the pure bright areas of the sword. Finally, with small linesof color White, I stood out at the corners.
Horn, Skulls and Gems.
For these parts I used the same procedures explained in previous articles.
Here’s the end of work.
For the “Barbed Wire” I opened an electric wire, I took a pair of copper wires and I twisted them. Then I created some “nodes”, always of copper wire, at regular intervals
For the Stalactites of Ice I used hot glue casting out of fishline.
This is my first time pay a visit at here and i am genuinely pleassant to read everthing at one place.|
